Saturday, October 6 - 11am - 10pm - Sycamore Rouge

The Central Virginia Film Institute is proud to partner with Nostalgiafest 2007 and Sycamore Rouge to bring the exhibit “For the Love of Film”. Throughout the afternoon roving Institute reporters will be interviewing the revelers at the festival, so make sure you get your “camera time” when you see a film crew approach you with questions. These interviews will be part of the “For the Love of Film” screenings in the Sycamore Rouge courtyard from 8:00 pm (whenever it gets dark) until 10:00 pm. These films will include a public premiere of student written, directed, filmed and edited shorts from the Southern Mystique Film Camp, a film camp sponsored for seven years by the Central Virginia Film Institute. Also featured will be screenings of the Oscar Night® America Gala sponsored by the Film Institute to raise money to bring a film festival to the Petersburg region in May of 2008. You won’t want to miss the “red carpet” interviews of your friends and colleagues who were interviewed by Lisa Schaffner of WRIC TV8 as they walked the red carpet at the Science Museum of Virginia and shared with the world “who they were wearing”. Make sure your Nostalgiafest 2007 includes the Sycamore Rouge and the “For the Love of Film” shorts that highlight young filmmakers, young performers (the performance of the 2007 Petersburg Summer Enrichment drama and music classes), Oscar ® moments, and Nostalgiafest 2007 interviews.
